Sept. 28, 1946 - Sept. 14, 2008

Diana Lynn Simpson, 61, of Lebanon lost her 12-year battle with cancer Sunday.

Born in Wagner, S.D., to Ernest and Maxine Tuma, she lived in Lebanon for 50 years.

She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1964, and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Steve Simpson. They have one daughter, Heather (Simpson) Arnis and they lived with her and her husband, Matt Arnis for the last 12 years.

When she became a "grammie" three years ago, she spent every day with her grandson, Max, having fun in some way. Trips to the beach, the zoo or down to see great-grandpa were some of her highlights.

She had a small business, Patina Antiques and Gifts, with her daughter and four friends, which she loved.

Diana is survived by her husband, Steve Simpson; daughter and son-in-law Heather and Matt Arnis; grandson Matthew Arnis; father Ernest Tuma; brothers Ernest Jr. and David Tuma; and all the friends who knew and loved her.

Her mother, Maxine, who also died of breast cancer, preceded her in death.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in Diana's name.

A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Friday with a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Edwards Church in Lebanon. Lunch will follow at the church. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
