Betty J. Wysong, 84, of Lebanon died Thursday at The Oaks in Lebanon.
Betty was born and raised in Indiana. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class and graduated with honors from business college.
After graduation she worked as a secretary on an Air Force base until the end of World War II. When she married Paul in 1948 they moved to Winberry Creek Road in Fall Creek and resided there until 2005, when she moved to The Oaks in Lebanon. Two children were born to this marriage, Thomas in 1949 and Sherry in 1950. Paul and Betty owned and operated Wysong Logging and Trucking Company in Fall Creek for many years until Paul was disabled in an accident.
Her hobbies included Chinese brush painting, sewing and gardening.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sherry Wysong of Woodinville, Wash.; sisters Helen Newell of Oakland, Calif., and Janet Luttman of Hudson, Ind.; grandchildren Brandy Wysong-Frick and husband Travis of Sweet Home, Stephanie Blachly and husband Josh of Sweet Home, and Samuel Wysong Luke of Woodinville; and great-grandchildren Brian Frick, and Brett and Cade Blachly, all of Sweet Home.
A private memorial service will be Saturday at her favorite restaurant in Eugene.
