Aug. 2, 1941 - July 5, 2008

Sua Tran, 66, of Albany died Saturday at her home.

She was born in Can Tho, Vietnam, the daughter of Khom and Phuong Thi (Kim) Mai.

She attended school in Vietnam and graduated from college at the top of her class. She then moved to Cambodia with her aunt and worked as an accountant for the Cambodia National Import/Export (Sonexim).

While in Cambodia, she met Sangsau Tran. They were married on May 15, 1960, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Because of the war, she and her family fled to Vietnam and lived there for 41/2 years. They had one son there. They later moved to Thailand, where they had another son. Her brother-in-law was able to sponsor their family to come to America, where she lived and stayed until going to the Lord in her sleep.

Sua enjoyed her French coffee in the morning. She was a great cook and loved great food. She enjoyed her grandchildren when she was able to. She was a strong woman.

She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church and a women's Bible study group at the church.

Sua is survived by her husband, Sangsau Tran of Albany; children Sausideth Tran of Albany, Radong Tran of Salem, Joshua Tran of Beaverton, Vimean Tran and Chankrasna Vu, both of Salem, and Mathoura Tran, Vibol Tran and Anward Tran, all of Hillsboro; 11 grandchildren; and sister Saren Doa of Cambodia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother San Doa.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Faith Lutheran Church.

Arrangements are by Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S.W., Albany, Oregon 97321 (www.fisherfuneralhome.com).
