James M. Gibbs, 74 of Lebanon died Friday at the Hopewell Hospice House in Portland.
James was born in Algodones, N.M., the son of John and Eulalia (Williams) Gibbs.
He married Janaveen J. Fisher in Seattle on May 4, 1956. He lived in the Lebanon area since 1969. He worked as a powerhouse operator for Pope & Talbot paper mill.
James was a member of the Masonic Lodge 44. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and hunting when he was younger.
He was preceded in death by two infant grandchildren.
He is survived by wife Janaveen of Lebanon; daughters Carol Georgelis of Lebanon, Valerie Butler of Jacksonville, Fla., Janene Gibbs of Lebanon and Jamie Williams of Portland; brother Dewey Dean Gibbs of Highland Ranch, Colo.; sister Joyce Claussen of Lebanon; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
