Norman Sheeran, 88, of Albany died Saturday at his home.
He was born in Columbia Falls, Mont., the son of Frank Clement and Bertha Irene (Suneson) Sheeran.
Norman married Cleora Louise Thon on Dec. 28, 1947 in Kalispell, Mont. They moved to Oregon in 1970 and lived in North Bend for four years before moving to Albany.
He worked as a chemist for 38 years, retiring from Georgia Pacific in 1984. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, the Albany Duplicate Bridge Club and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. He loved playing bridge with his friends at the Duplicate Bridge Club. He was an avid reader, spending many Saturdays at the library. He was very proud of his five children, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
Norman is survived by his wife Cleora Sheeran of Albany; children Jay Sheeran of Albany, Lucinda Sheeran of Langlois, Cathy Nicholson and her husband Jim of Tigard, Keith Sheeran of Vancouver, Wash., and Maureen Formick and husband Jay of Canby; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Burke Sheeran and sister Mary Ellen Bowman.
A memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Presbyterian Church.
