June 23, 1945 - March 28, 2009
Larry Dean Watts, 63, died March 28 at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.
He was born in Fairbury, Neb., to Jackson Grant Watts and Leora Burldean Rall.
Larry was self employed as a carpenter. He loved hunting, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, snow machines and working with his hands building things. His family stated, "In 1983 he left a comfortable career and home in Albany, following his dream, with faith in his heart as he packed up his fifth wheel trailer and set out for Alaska. He had a very strong connection to animals and the land around him. Living off the land God provided was truly a paradise to him. Spiritual, faithful, loving and compassionate, were only a few works that come to mine when remembering our father, our brother and our son. Larry always offered help and love to those around him, never asking for anything in return. This is how he will always be remembered."
He is survived by his sons, David, Paul, James and Orry Watts; daughter Amy, Tess and Camille Watts and Mirada Mello; mother Leora Watts; brothers Jack and Bradley Watts; seven grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackson Grant Watts.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Assembly of God Church in Albany in the Joe Lack Chapel.
