Hermoine A. Leisy, 93, of Lebanon died Thursday at her home.
Hermoine was born in Crookston, Neb., the daughter of Henry and Mary (Maule) Wakefield. She lived in Dillwyn, Va., throughout her childhood, where she attended and completed her schooling. She moved back to Nebraska for a few years, where she met and married Earl Leisy in Valentine, Neb., on Nov. 30, 1933. They moved to Oregon in 1934 and to Lebanon in 1942, where she has resided for the past 65 years.
Hermoine enjoyed her trips to Reno, Nev., and playing bingo. She was a member of the Lebanon First United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose and the Oregon State Grange.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 1989; brothers George, Charles, Bill and Tony Wakefield; and sisters Mary Cory, Helena Ellenger, Ellen Hetland, Ethel Daniels and Frances Bozzelli.
She is survived by sons Edward Leisy and Jimmy Leisy of Lebanon; brother Fred Wakefield of Richmond, Va.; granddaughters Deanna Cameron and Janell Payne; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lebanon First United Methodist Church. Private inurnment will be in the Waverly Cemetery in Albany.
