Whether you like his policies or not, you have to admire the affable style of President Obama.
The day before speaking to the Congress and the country about the economy, he met in a public session with representatives and senators from both parties, including Sen. John McCain.
On television the public could see the president and some of his opponents in a civil exchange marked by serious talk as well as light-hearted moments - just the way any group of people of good will would tackle a common problem.
Even if it doesn't produce immediate solutions, this kind of openness and lack of rancor in the government is good to see. (hh)
