First quarter
Sean Canfield scored on a 1-yard sneak late in the quarter to give the Beavers the lead.
Oregon State needed six plays to get the touchdown, covering 57 yards, but the big play was a 48-yard completion to tight end Joe Halahuni that gave OSU a first-and-goal at the 10.
As the quarter ended, OSU was driving inside the Cal 40 after James Rodgers darted 28 yards on a flysweep and Canfield connected with Damon Adeniji for 32 yards.
Second quarter
OSU finished off a 90-yard drive in 8 plays as Canfield hit James Rodgers with a 15-yard scoring pass to make it 14-0.
A defensive pass interference call wiped out an OSU interception in the end zone and Jahvid Best dove in a play later to put the Bears on the scoreboard. Best was injured on the landing.
Canfield tossed his second touchdown pass of the quarter, this time a 3-yarder to Jordan Bishop, to make it 21-7 with 1:56 left in the half.
Third quarter
The Beavers took a 24-7 lead on a 24-yard Justin Kahut field goal after safety Lance Mitchell intercepted Kevin Riley and returned the ball to the Cal 15.
The Beavers had 139 total yards in the quarter and held California to 55.
Canfield was 23 of 29 for 284 yards and the two scores through the third.
Damola Adeniji had five catches for 87 yards to lead OSU through three quarters.
Fourth quarter
The Beavers burned just under seven minutes of the quarter on a scoring drive to put the game away.
OSU drove 80 yards in 12 plays and scored on a 24-yard run by Jacquizz Rodgers to take a 31-7 lead with 2:08 left.
The Bears drove 66 yards on eight plays and scored to make it 31-14.
OSU finished with 436 total yards and held Cal to 239.
Canfield was 29 of 39 for 342 yards.
