Albany's Hans Reimers won his match in the round of 32 Thursday at the Oregon Amateur Championship, played at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.
Reimers defeated Justin Smithhisler of Roseburg 2 & 1.
Reimers was then defeated in the round of 16 by Colin Tucker of Lake Oswego, 4 &3.
Albany's Nick Sherwood dropped his round of 32 match to Nick Chianello of Gresham, 4 & 3.
Hole-in-one
Troy Montbriand of Albany hit his first hole in one on the 15th hole at Mallard Creek Golf Course on Thursday. He made the ace on the 16-yard hole with a 5-wood.
The shot was witnessed by Mick Dorgan of Albany.
Eisenhower honored
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Former president Dwight D. Eisenhower has been selected for the World Golf Hall of Fame, the first U.S. president to be inducted.
Eisenhower was a member of Augusta National whose passion for golf helped fuel its popularity after World War II.
