West Albany kept up the attack for much of the game, but couldn't dent Santiam Christian's defense in a 0-0 boys soccer tie on Saturday.
Santiam Christian coach David Harvey credited keeper Edward Henricks with anchoring the Eagles' defense. The team suffered a setback in an injury to defender Jacob Kummer.
West Albany coach George van Keulen said Matthew Rushing, Wade Kroeger and Satchel Harry played well and earned starting spots in the Bulldogs' (3-0-1) home game on Thursday against Roosevelt.
Santiam Christian plays East Linn Christian Tuesday in a Special District 4 contest at LBCC.

West Albany runners competed Saturday in the 24-team Saxon Invitational, hosted by South Salem.
The next meet for West Albany is the Northwest Classic on Saturday at Lane Community College.
