McGowan shines in all-star games

Harrisburg's Brody McGowan had an outstanding weekend in leading his team to two wins in the Oregon Athletic Coaches Association all-star basketball series for graduated seniors.

McGowan, a 6-foot-5 post, had 18 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, three blocks and three steals Saturday to help the 3A South to a 101-83 victory against the North at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City.

Friday, McGowan had 24 points, 12 rebounds, five steals, three assists and three blocks in a 122-87 win at Northwest Christian College in Eugene.

Jared Manning of Central Linn had 11 points and eight rebounds Saturday in the 2A North's 94-60 win.

Michael Jacobsen of Scio added six points, five rebounds, eight assists and one steal for the North.

Friday, Jacobsen had 28 points (including four 3-pointers), six rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 106-78 win.

Manning added six points, three rebounds, two assists, three steals and one block.
