South Albany dropped only one set in an 8-0 sweep of Lebanon in Mid-Willamette Conference girls tennis.
South Albany coach Phil Leichty singled out the efforts of his youngsters, including Ashley Howell, who played singles for the first time and recorded the win. He also praised the efforts of his number-four doubles team.
Josie Jones and Ali Wittrig dropped their first set but came back to win the next two and complete the sweep.
South Albany (4-1, 2-1) continues MWC play today with a match against Silverton.

The Bulldogs improved to 5-0 on the season with the makeup win over the Dragons on the West Albany courts.
West Albany swept to straight set wins in all four singles matches and two of the doubles contests.
Ilaria Alessi continued her unbeaten ways with a
6-0, 6-0 sweep in number one singles and her teammates kept pace.
West Albany (5-0, 3-0) hosts Silverton in another Mid-Willamette Conference match next Tuesday.

Led by wins in all four doubles matches, West Albany collected its third straight Mid-Willamette Conference victory at Dallas.
The Bulldogs didn't drop a set in doubles and got wins in its top two singles matches as well.
Michael Baumgartner continued his winning ways in number one singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
"In general we're doing very well right now. I moved some people around today and it came out okay," said West Albany coach Erik Ihde.
West Albany (5-0, 3-0) faces a tough test today against one of the conference favorites, Crescent Valley, on the Raider courts.
