Jefferson fell short in its bid to earn the No. 3 seed from the PacWest Conference in the upcoming 3A state volleyball playoffs.
The Lions lost an elimination game Wednesday night in Stayton to Regis, falling in four sets after winning a close opening set. The set scores were 25-27, 25-9, 25-14, 25-14 for the Rams.
The Lions had advanced in the PacWest Conference playoffs with a victory Tuesday night over Harrisburg.
Jefferson finishes the season 8-8 in conference play under first-year coach.
Regis advances to play Cascade Christian in a first-round state playoff game on Saturday.
