Corvallis scored seven runs in the sixth inning, aided by some shaky Lebanon defense, to clinch the Mid-Willamette Conference contest Tuesday.

Lebanon (0-3 MWC) hosts the Spartans in the second game of the series today.

The host Huskies went hitless in five innings against defending champion Central in their league-opener.

"They are state champs for a reason plus they have every starter returning," said Sweet Home coach Steve Hummer. "We didn't play very well but we're young and we're going to learn."

Sweet Home (5-3, 0-1) plays at Philomath on Friday.

The Eagles took the first of a four-games-in-four-days swing behind the arm of Kalyssa Koontz and the bat of Quincey Davis.

Koontz pitched a complete game and allowed only three walks. She also struck out six.

Davis went 3 for 4 at the plate with two RBI's and a double.

Junior pitcher Ashley Guenther struck out 15 of the 22 Santiam batters she faced on the way to her first no-hitter for the Loggers.

Scio received help from Santiam as the Wolverines committed eight errors, while Miranda Eaton helped Scio put the game away in six innings as she tallied two triples.

"She said to me before the game that she was going to pitch harder than she ever had before," said Scio coach Jamie McDaniel of Guenther.

"She is just in the zone and very focused right now."

Scio (5-1, 3-0) plays at Blanchet on Thursday.

Despite not having any extra-base hits, the Cobras found a way to score plenty of runs in their win over Crow.

Breanna Wibbens did it all for the Cobras as she pitched a complete game and had multiple hits and two stolen bases. Mary Sloan drove in two runs.

Central Linn (1-1) plays a doubleheader at Oakland on Thursday.

Tiffany Wickizer tallied two doubles and five RBI's for the Eagles in their win over the Lions in the PacWest Conference contest.
