West Albany sweeps Woodburn

West Albany swept host Woodburn, outscoring their opponents by a combined 31-1 in their two, five-inning softball contests.

Kilee Hancock hit a three-run home run and two doubles to go with six RBIs.

Stepanie Crow had a double and a triple, going 3 for 3 with four RBIs, while Courtney Martin and Laura Frazier also added three hits in the opener.

Martin and Kayla Dell combined for six hits and six RBIs in the late contest.

West Albany (14-6-1, 13-4) will host Woodburn tonight to conclude their Mid-Willamette Conference series.

Scio 4, Culver 1

Loggers starter Ashley Guenther gave up a first-inning run and then was close to perfect as Scio won on the road.

Guenther allowed that single run on two hits with 10 strikeouts and five walks in the complete-game victory.

Scio's Corrinne Miller had a double as the Logger offense came alive in the late innings to secure the victory.

Scio (12-3, 10-2 Special District 3) will host Delphian on Friday.

Two first-inning errors by Jefferson led to three Regis runs and a deficit that the Lions could not make up.

Brianna Wanner hit a solo home run in the fifth for Jefferson. Hayley Baker had a double.

South Albany 7, Lebanon 1

Meagan Resecker and Chloe Mitchell dominated their opponents as the Rebels swept the singles.

Resecker won 6-0, 6-0 and Mitchell won 6-1, 6-0.

South Albany (9-4, 7-4) hosts West Albany today.

Boys tennis

South Albany 4, Lebanon 4

For the second time this season, the Rebels and Warriors ended their men's tennis match in a tie. However, unlike last time, the Rebels ended up winning more sets, 10-9.

Lebanon won three of four singles matches while South Albany took three of four in the doubles department. Joe Anderson was the lone winner in singles for the Rebels.

For Lebanon, Michael Mahoney and Nick Zatta teamed up to help Lebanon tie it up.

South Albany (5-8, 5-6) play at West Albany today.
